As the weather gets colder, we are so happy to have opportunities to meet women that keep our fires going internally. This weeks featured member is no exception to this.

Chandra Clark is the Manager, External Partnerships and Post-Secondary Programming at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City. Along with being a leader for young women in Kansas City by establishing a number of programs in the community, she also finds time to spread her positive energy through her blog Be Loved (www.belovedcckc.com). Through Be Loved, Chandra shares her story of childhood trauma and writes to educate women on the struggles of self-esteem and provides insight to how you can work through the lows. Read below for her recent interview with photographer, Anna Petrow.

Anna: “Why is Kansas City your home base?”
Chandra: “Kansas City is a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem. I am inspired to live in a city filled with next level creators and innovators.”

Anna: “Tell me about a woman who inspires you.”
Chandra: “Debby Ballard is someone that I greatly admire. Her confidence, wisdom and strength is an inspiration.”

Anna: “Why did you join The Nelle?”
Chandra: “In addition to being a fan of the founders, I believe it its mission and vision. I am so honored to be a member.”

Anna: “What are you looking forward to most about The Nelle?”
Chandra: “Being involved in an organization and community lead by women that supports other women.”

Anna: “What is your proudest accomplishment?”
Chandra: “Besides raising my 17-year old daughter and managing a career single handily, I was the recipient of the 2016 Young Athena Professional Leadership Award through the KC Chamber.”

Anna: “What drives you creatively?”
Chandra: “My heart, I believe that my creativity brings hope and healing to the world.”

Anna: “What stands out to you most about KC's recent growth?”
Chandra: “The revitalization of the downtown area and amount of thriving businesses. KC is the perfect place to start a business.”

Anna: “How do you stay motivated?”
Chandra: “My tribe. I have been blessed with a supportive community of friends and family that believe in me and cheer for my success.”
