- Why is Kansas City your home base?
I work remotely so I am fortunate enough to choose anywhere as my home base and had to pick Kansas City. There’s no place that feels more like home, and I’m so excited to see what it becomes over the next 5 years. I feel lucky to be here while it’s growing and evolving and have met such incredible and inspiring people since being back. Everyone seems committed to making Kansas City the best it can be.
- Tell me about a woman who inspires you.
My mom inspires me. She raised me to be the person I am today, instilled in me my values and ethics, and also taught me to work hard for what I want. I was drawn to work in the non-profit sector because my mom has always been committed to supporting her community. It also means the world to me that my group of girlfriends from high school are now some of the most inspiring women in my life. I’ve been surrounded by motivated, intelligent women from day one.
- Why did you join The Nelle?
I recently moved from New York City and was a member of The Wing there. When I moved to Kansas City, I wanted to find something similar and was ecstatic to see that the Nelle was launching. The Wing was a safe, collaborative, and inspiring place for every woman, and I’m just so happy we’ll have something similar here.
- What are you looking forward to most about The Nelle?
Meeting the women that make our community what it is! Every woman I’ve met that’s connected to The Nelle has been friendly, warm, driven, and smart. I can’t wait to be surrounded by that every day.
